A Girl & Her Horse

There can be no greater love than that between a girl and her horse . . . or so it would seem, especially to the young girl.  My whole life I have felt nothing but pure love for horses.  It didn’t matter that I never had the privilege to own one or even live near one.  But I always loved them and would fantasize of the day I would have one.   My dream has since been realized and my belief has been proven true . . . there can be no greater love.

Light, Glorious Light!

. . . that’s what photography is all about - light.  You can take the most simple, everyday subject and turn it into an extraordinary work of art.  It doesn’t matter what I am doing - driving, sitting by a window, feeding the animals, cooking dinner - I am always aware of the way sunlight is affecting my surroundings.  Couple light with freshly fallen snow or dew on the grass or the morning after it has rained and you will see a completely different world.

It’s Prom Night!!

I had the pleasure of photographing a handful of young ladies getting ready for the prom this past Saturday night.  What a lot of fun that was!!  I loved watching the transformation from a head full of curlers to beautiful hair styles; shorts and tee shirts to briliantly colored formal dresses.   In another three years my own daughter will be doing the same thing and I can hardly wait!!

Sweet Emily

I remember when Emily was just a babe.  In two days she will celebrate her second birthday.  I remember when my children were this young, but 21 and 14 years have passed since they were babies.  It really seems impossible for them to be the ages they are and that they are no longer babies or toddlers.

It was so much fun to photograph Emily!  She is such a bright, beautiful child.  Those eyes and gorgeous curls will certainly melt your heart.

I had a couple of wonderful photo shoots last month that I’d like to share some highlights from.  Children are just so amazing!  Their ability to be in the moment and comfortable in their own skin is something we adults could certainly learn and benefit from.  No more words are necessary.  I believe these images will tell their own story . . .
