Posted on November 25, 2009

On December 5th from 10-2 I will be at The Animal House in Damariscotta, Maine photographing animals with Santa!  Children and pet owners are welcome to be included in the photo as well.   No sitting fee and no appointments necessary.  I will be offering several options, which include packages, ala carte and Holiday cards.   The Adoption Clinic Maine Greyhound Placement Service will be there from 11-2 and I will be donating 10% that is generated through the photo sessions that day, so come help support this awesome service!

2009 Pumpkin Fest - Damariscotta, Maine

Posted on October 11, 2009

I absolutely love this time of year, but to have the day as glorious as this in terms of weather and brilliant foliage AND to have the Damariscotta, Maine Pumpkin Fest happening at the same time was truly a feast for the eyes!  I’m just going to put up a small sampling of the photographs I took during the festival, but you can find the rest of them in the  GALLERIES. There are 2 galleries - one for color images and one for sepia.

You will notice that I converted some of these images into a sepia tone, and you may be wondering why would I do that considering the lovely Autumn colors.  My reason is purely for arts’ sake.  I personally love how the conversion removes the distraction of color, which allows the true meaning of the image to come through more clearly.

For those of you lucky enough to attend, you will get a chance to see how I experienced the festival.  And for those of you who were unable because of distance or other engagements, well, I just hope you will enjoy my view!

There was a lot of carving going on, and let me tell you, the talent was astonishing!  I’m going to take advantage of the fact that I can arrange the pictures as I choose, which is why I’m going to highlight my personal favorite of the carved giant pumpkins.  I don’t know the name of this one but I’m thinking it could be “Puff the Magic Dragon.”

I just love this image!  The innocent interaction between child and artist is simply priceless.

Can you imagine creating something like this?!

Love the concentration here and look at that baby!

High School Senior Portraits at DRA

Posted on September 21, 2009

I’ve been busy with a few last minute High School Senior Portrait sessions.  Thankfully the weather has been fabulous, allowing us to get outdoors to take advantage of the late summer light.  This one was photographed at a beautiful location in Damariscotta, Maine called the DRA - Damariscotta River Association.  Thank you, Max, for letting me take your photographs.  I hope you enjoy them!!

Pirate Rendezvous - Damariscotta, Maine

Posted on June 15, 2009

Damariscotta, Maine just had the most amazing event this past Saturday, June 13th.  It was the second annual “Pirate Rendezvous.” The entire town was completely packed, featuring the Mystic Pirates of Damariscotta, who came in two pirate ships and took over the town at high noon.

Nearly every child that attended was dressed up in pirate attire, wielding plastic swords, wearing head bands and eye patches.  Some had a hook at the end of their arm, mimicking Captain Hook, others were having mock sword fights and some were having their faces painted.

There were musicians, reenactors, story tellers, book signings, and games.  After the pirate ships anchored and came ashore, pirates and children alike took over the town.  It was an exhausting day but so much fun!  Despite all the rain we’ve been having, this particular day was sunny and warm!

Here are just a few pictures I took.  If you want to see the rest (all 150 of them) I have two galleries - one all color and the other all black and white and sepia.  I personally think the black & white & sepia are much more dramatic.  Take a look  HERE.
