Proof that Winter Exists {Maine Lifestyle Photographer}

Winter has become one of my favorite seasons. I know that sounds crazy to a lot of people. Yes, there are plenty of days throughout winter that I dread. Even despise. I can say that about all four of the seasons. What it boils down to is I don’t care for the extremes that each of these seasons can sometimes be possessed by.

What I love so much about winter is it allows me a chance to regroup. To catch up on my life. To initiate change. To slow down and evaluate. To drink in the quiet, still voice of nature.

I am not idle during these months of darker days. I am outside a lot with my animals, watching them play. Enjoying the lack of biting insects and sweltering heat. Winter has a certain charm that for some must be understood to appreciate. It took me many years to come to this place of appreciation. As January creeps deeper into the cave of winter, I follow, knowing there is light on the other side.

Family Portraits in Round Pond Maine

This was a really fun photo session to do. You can tell this family has a lot of good times together. I loved the fact that they all dressed in black and white. Even more amazing is they wanted to include their four dogs in the pictures – two black and two white! Needless to say the black and white photos are my favorite, although the color images really show the beautiful lighting I had to work with. I hope you all enjoy the results!

Round Pond 4th of July Parade

The Round Pond 4th of July Parade is most likely by far the most well attended parade in Maine. “Anything goes” seems to be the flavor of the parade. It’s usually quite political, but with no elections on the horizon, there was no evidence of that this year. A lot of local businesses tastefully and patriotically marching through the street, proudly showing all the many thousands of onlookers who they are. The colors and costumes and floats and, of course, the children were all fabulous!

If anyone knows any of these people, could you please contact them and let them know about the pictures. I am having a special on portrait sessions for any of the people I happened to photograph during the Round Pond parade (as well as those I photographed at the Pirate Rendezvous.) It’s Prom Night!!

I had the pleasure of photographing a handful of young ladies getting ready for the prom this past Saturday night. What a lot of fun that was!! I loved watching the transformation from a head full of curlers to beautiful hair styles; shorts and tee shirts to briliantly colored formal dresses. In another three years my own daughter will be doing the same thing and I can hardly wait!!
