I finally feel settled enough to write my first blog post at my new home in Tacoma, WA. My transition from Maine to Washington still feels like I am on vacation! But I’m sure it won’t be long before I feel like I am really here. On my way west I stopped in Colorado to visit with my daughter and to do a photo session. The Fletcher’s recommended a Red Rocks family session and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. My daughter and I arrived first so we scouted around the amphitheater. Many people were already there, but I suppose on a gorgeous Sunday morning, one cannot blame them.
Fifteen minutes later my family arrived for their session. We decided on a less crowded location, which took us on a winding path of red dirt and towering red rock formations. There was an occasional cottonwood tree dressed in full autumn colors that really stood out against the rocks. Pearson is a bright and happy two year old, who made my job as a photographer the highlight of my day.
For anyone who has not been to the Amphitheater, here is a little info you may be interested in. Red Rocks is the world famous outdoor amphitheater hosting various concerts, films, and performances during the warmer months. It’s one of the crown jewels of this region and a vacation to Denver during summer is not complete without visiting this gorgeous venue.
And now for the best part of this post: The photos!!!
