If I were to pick my favorite time of the year, I would have to say Fall. The colors, the light, the more tolerable temperatures - all of these elements create the perfect atmosphere for a fall family photo session. This week on my morning drive to meet a lovely family, I couldn't get over how vibrant the colors were! I think all of us here in Maine were expecting a colorless Autumn. We had virtually no rain since June, except for northern Maine, so we assumed that all the leaves would just die and fall off the trees. Fortunately that didn't happen! I can't remember a more brilliant fall.
The combination of location and adorable faces allowed me to walk away with a bundle of gorgeous photographs! Their clothing choices were perfect since the colors were able to draw in the flavor of Autumn. People often ask me why I love photographing children. My answer is simple. Each child is unique and because I allow them to move freely throughout the session, I am able to capture who they are. But most of all I love the challenge! Because children have a mind of their own, I do my best to discover how to keep them happy. One tool I am grateful for is a very fast shutter! What might appear to be a lost millisecond is soon discovered in post production as a brilliant moment worth keeping!
A beautiful fall family photo session
I can't think of a better image to end this preview with than this one. Morning was a perfect time to choose for family photos and the children did a great job! Yes, the two year old led the way but that is what I expected. And I think it worked out beautifully!
