As many of you know, I love to photograph children. Whenever I hear of some photographers who don't particularly care about taking on child clients, I wonder to myself "why?!" It could be that if they come with a set plan of how the photo shoot should unfold, then I can see their disappointment. Children do not unfold to a set plan. They simply "are" and if you are going to photograph them, you have to simply "be" and you'd better be fast if you want to keep up with them and not miss a beat!Little Miss Ava had a very busy couple of days with grand parents over for Thanksgiving, so she was a little tired and a little bit almost three years old, but I think she did a great job. And there were no meltdowns either! In fact, plenty of smiles and sweetness in between a few moments of silliness and resistance. But I got the job done and that's all that matters, right! Enjoy your preview and in a couple of days I should have the rest finished ~
It isn't everyday I get a call to do a photo session on an island along the Midcoast of Maine, so when the phone rang and the request was to do just that, I couldn't help but get excited! I also couldn't help but to proclaim how much I love my job. There are so many locations I would never have the opportunity to go to, and it is you - all my dear and wonderful clients - that have made it possible for me to do so. And it isn't just the locations I get excited about, it is all of you, yes, my wonderful clients, that I would otherwise never meet if it wasn't for the fabulous fact that I have an amazing job with many, many perks! We had the most perfect day for a photo session. Blue sky, a gentle breeze that kept the heat from the mainland under control, and a lovely couple with the most charming little two year old boy I have ever met. He was so adorable, and luckily quite easy to distract, especially when he had an agenda that was much different than ours. Anyone who has ever had a two year old will understand!
You have to agree that they are quite the trio!
The views from their little rocky beach were fabulous!
Plenty of exploring to do in the tide pools. The tide was still a bit high, so I bet there were many more treasures once it became low tide.
I hope you had a memorable time while visiting Maine and that it becomes one of your return vacation spots for years to come! I also hope you enjoy your photo preview - more to come soon!!
Franny is like a breath of innocence and wisdom all wrapped up in a bundle of serious cuteness! She was shy at first about having me take pictures of her, but once she saw herself in my camera, she was totally into it.Read More
Sometimes it's just plain impossible to do a little preview of images from a family photo session that was loads of fun AND has endless gorgeous pictures to choose from! I still can not get over how beautiful this family was, both their personalities and their sweet faces. My drive home after this shoot made me realize just how much I love what I do. It truly is an on-location photographers dream to venture to places I would otherwise never even know exist. Thank you so much for entrusting me with the job of creating keepsakes that I'm sure you will love for years to come. I hope you enjoy this little peak!
This family was totally up to utilizing all the natural props scattered throughout their property.
Being the Libra that I am, making decisions is not my greatest asset. Deciding between the above light and airy picture and the more bold picture below is simply going to have to be the decisions of the parents! I give up - I love them both!!
